How to travel to Würzburg by plane

Frankfurt and Nürnberg are the closest airports.

Connection to the Frankfurt airport is easy thanks to the presence of a dedicated long-distance train station, from where travelers can ride the Intercity Express (ICE) for 90 minutes to Würzburg's main train station.

 

If you are flying to Nürnberg, you must transfer to the main train station by the U2 subway line, which directly connects Nürnberg Airport with the central train in just 12 minutes. The subway runs every 10 minutes. From Nürnberg’s train station, you can arrive to Würzburg by Intercity Express (ICE) (ca. 50 minutes) or regional service (RE) (1 h and 10 minutes).
